Methods for Handling Common Stains and Repairing Damages of Hotel Carpets
Hotel carpets, which are long-term exposed to high-frequency pedestrian flow environments, are prone to being contaminated with various stains and suffering damage. If not handled in a timely manner or with improper methods, they will affect the appearance and service life, and increase the hotel's operation and maintenance costs. Mastering scientific methods for stain treatment and damage repair can effectively extend the service life of carpets, maintain the clean and beautiful appearance of hotel spaces, and ensure the guest experience. It is applicable to various carpeted areas such as hotel guest rooms, lobbies, and corridors.

The treatment of common stains should follow the principle of "timely handling and classified response" to avoid stains penetrating the fibers. For water-soluble stains such as soup and tea, immediately absorb the moisture with a dry towel, then gently wipe with warm water dipped in a neutral detergent, and finally wipe clean with clean water and let it dry. For oil-based stains such as oil stains and sauces, first sprinkle an appropriate amount of talcum powder or flour to absorb the oil, let it stand for 1-2 hours, then clean it, and then wipe with a special degreasing detergent. For stubborn stains such as ink and lipstick, select the corresponding special detergent, apply a small amount and wipe gently, avoid vigorous rubbing to damage the fibers, and clean with clean water in a timely manner after wiping.
Damage repair should be handled according to the degree of damage. For slight fuzzing and snags, trim them flat with scissors, then comb the fibers with a comb to restore flatness. For small-area damage (within 5cm in diameter), cut a patch of the same material as the carpet, paste and fix it with special glue, ensuring that the edges fit closely without bulging. For large-area damage or severe wear, partial carpet replacement is required. When splicing, ensure that the interface is tight and consistent with the color and texture of the original carpet to reduce visual abruptness.
In addition, avoid stepping on the carpet immediately after stain treatment, let it stand and solidify after damage repair, and do a good job in daily prevention to reduce stain contamination and damage. Scientifically handling stains and timely repairing damages can maximize the service life of hotel carpets, reduce replacement costs, and maintain the overall clean style of the hotel.
